Colman Domingo reveals his dramatic transformation to portray Joe Jackson in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic "Michael," directed by Antoine Fuqua. The actor underwent extensive prosthetic work to accurately represent the Jackson family patriarch's appearance.

"My skin is lighter because Joe was a bit more fair-skinned. I had prosthetics on top of my head above my eye, and my nose is different," Domingo explained in a W Magazine interview. The transformation extends beyond facial features to include detailed costume choices reflecting different periods of Joe Jackson's life.

The film, scheduled for release on October 3, stars Jafaar Jackson (Michael's nephew) in the lead role. It chronicles the King of Pop's career and addresses the controversial sexual abuse allegations that marked his later years.

Domingo's approach to portraying Joe Jackson stems from his interest in the character's complexity. "I wanted to take it on because I know that there are many public opinions about Joe Jackson that are in conflict with what maybe family members or people who knew him think or believe," he told Entertainment Weekly. The actor aims to explore how Joe Jackson shaped his children into world-renowned artists while acknowledging the complicated nature of his legacy.

The film focuses on capturing different phases of Joe Jackson's life, from his early days as a "younger and slicker" figure to his later years, complete with physical changes that Domingo embraced for authenticity. This attention to detail demonstrates the production's commitment to presenting a comprehensive portrayal of the controversial figure who shaped one of music's most famous families.
