OnePlus's upcoming 13R model, launching alongside the OnePlus 13, promises significant upgrades while maintaining a competitive price point compared to its flagship counterpart.

According to OnLeaks and 91Mobiles, the OnePlus 13R will be a global version of China's OnePlus Ace 5. The device is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for the base model.

The phone will sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, featuring flat edges instead of the curved design seen in its predecessor. The display's peak brightness specifications are yet to be confirmed.

Camera improvements include replacing the 2MP macro lens with a new 50MP camera (possibly telephoto), while retaining the 50MP primary sensor, 8MP ultrawide, and 16MP front camera. Battery capacity sees a substantial upgrade to 6,000mAh, with charging speeds remaining at 80W for North America and 100W globally.

The device will run OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. Physical dimensions show a slimmer profile at 8.02mm compared to the 12R's 8.8mm. The design adopts a boxier aesthetic, moving away from curved edges.

Available colors will include "Nebula Noir" and "Astral Trail," with a potential third option coming later. Expected pricing should fall between $550-$600, offering strong value given the specifications.

The OnePlus 13R improves upon its predecessor with better cameras, a larger battery, and updated internals while maintaining the brand's value-focused approach in the premium smartphone segment.
